Traditional Mexican cuisine, an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity

In 2010, the Mexican traditional cuisine was named Intangible Cultural Heritage by UNESCO. Mexican gastronomy is a comprehensive cultural model which includes: unique agricultural activities, rituals, culinary techniques, ancenstral manners, and groups of people who improve crops and traditional cuisine.

From planting and harvesting to cooking and eating.

The basis is founded on corn, beans and chili.
Very elaborate and full of symbols: tortillas and tamales for Día de Muertos offerings.
Unique farming methods such as “milpas”, cooking processes,
utensils including “molcajetes” (stones for grinding
